1. Making more space solves everything? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Callic Veratar wrote: Though it may just end up as a jump range reduction. That's exactly what it is. ChromeStriker is proposing a jump range reduction because he doesn't like being hotdropped when out raiding.

2. AU unit have been updated. (In real life) - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
I like the AU because it explains our place in the universe a bit every time you use it. Instead of saying "[meaningless billions] of kilometres", you can say "that thing's 105 times as far away from the sun as we are".

3. Pay Per Kill - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I don't like the idea of giving people an arbitrary incentive to kill each other. That just shows that the proper incentive (scarcity of resources), isn't working properly. The problem is either the resources aren't scarce enough or they're imposs...

4. If EVE were real, how would local work? - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
If eve was real changes in the local channel would propogate at the speed of light. So if someone jumped in at a gate 1 AU away you would be alerted to his prescence in about 8 minutes, assuming he didn't move any closer during that time

I used to run a nos on my ratting hurricane a year or so ago, it seemed to work just fine. Good for getting past the inertia of empty cap back to peak recharge rate.

Sub-warp speeds in eve are actually fairly low by space's standards. It's just the accelerations that are a little exaggerated, like frigates which often accelerate at well over 100 gravities.

10. Brains, NOM NOM! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Just because NPC ships work the same way as player ships, doesn't necessarily mean they'd have the same characteristics as a player. A pilot with zero skillpoints and all tech 1 equipment actually comes out slightly worse than your average rat

11. Stabber: [New Model] New Fitting - how do you see this shaping up? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Heh, with just 2 TEs and 425s it seems the new stabber can get over 40km of falloff, with room to spare for a slightly better shield tank than the old shield rupture. DPS is a little low though
